Murphy Talks Health Care, Job Training, Veterans' Housing in ...

?

On Monday, candidate for the Senate, Democrat Chris Murphy visited the Middletown Democratic Town Committee headquarters to speak about commitment to health care, job training and housing for veterans.

Veterans Bob Hunter of Torrington and Paul Tarbox, clerk of the Veterans' Affairs Committee at Connecticut General Assembly; spoke about Murphy?s record at the event attended by many, including state Rep. Matthew Lesser and Middletown Mayor Dan Drew.

?If you want to balance the budget and you want to give a new massive tax cut to the wealthy, then there is no way to balance the books without having veterans? programs affected," Murphy said, according to the New Haven Register.

"I am not going to just talk the talk when it comes supporting veterans, as I have in Congress. I?m going to walk the walk,? Murphy said.

In early October, U.S. Sen. John McCain joined Linda McMahon (R) on the campaign trail in Connecticut, stopping at the Disabled American Veterans Hall in Danbury and a meeting of McMahon supporters at the Norwalk Inn.

"This election rests on the veterans," McCain told veterans, reports Danbury Patch. "Turn out the vote. I want each of you to call 50 people. Even call your mother-in-law. This is a call to action."
